Squigle Enamel Saver Toothpaste is Irritant-Free.

Enamel Saver does NOT contain SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate) and other irritating ingredients. Squigle Toothpaste was designed to be your Mouth Friend.

It's free of harsh abrasives, stinging flavors, irritating tartar control agents and bleaches, and of course it's free of SLS and other irritating detergents. Research has linked SLS directly to outbreaks of canker sores.

Why Squigle® is the Best Toothpaste for Canker Sore Sufferers:

  1. It's free of SLS and other irritating ingredients. For a more complete list of irritating ingredients to avoid, see Protect your Mouth: Avoid Harsh Toothpaste Ingredients.
  2. It contains 36% by weight of natural Xylitol - far more than any other toothpaste - to profoundly inhibit the growth of plaque. Plaque is an irritant that triggers canker sores.
  3. It can be used by people with canker sores and mouth ulcers because it doesn't cause further pain.
  4. It prevents tooth decay, gum disease, and bad breath better than your regular toothpaste.
  5. It tastes great - you'll love using it. Other SLS-free toothpastes taste weird or don't foam at all.
  6. Canker sore sufferers benefit more from Squigle than from any other canker sore toothpaste.

Instructions for Patients with Canker Sores

These instructions are provided as a guide to patients who have been diagnosed by a physician or dentist. These Instructions have been created after hundreds of hours of discussions with patients and physicians. They are not meant to be rigid and unchanging. Of course, we hope they work for you.

This is crucial: Use SQUIGLE® Toothpaste exclusively. Patented SQUIGLE is free of SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate) and other irritating ingredients such as cocamidopropyl betaine, tartar control agents, and bleaches. And it has a mild flavor to prevent irritation of delicate tissues.

  • If you feel you need to use mouthwash, use 0.12% chlorhexidine gluconate (a prescription antimicrobial rinse) twice a day, as needed.
  • Floss at least once a day, before you brush. Use unwaxed floss. If your teeth are closely spaced, use Glide® floss. If your ulcers are too painful to use floss, use an oral irrigator.
  • If possible, gently brush your tongue, roof of mouth, and inside of cheeks with a soft bristled, small headed brush. This will further reduce the amount of irritating plaque in your mouth.
  • No baking soda -- it only makes matters worse.
  • No chewing gum, especially no cinnamon or spearmint. One exception (see below). Don't use candy or breath mints, especially cinnamon or spearmint.
  • For terrible attacks, try oral cortisone (methyl prednisolone dose pack -- prescription required).
  • A short course of oral tetracycline is OK. So is a short course of antifungal therapy or antiviral therapy.
  • Take a multivitamin + multimineral daily, after a meal. (Solgar VM-75® is OK). In addition, take 500 mg to 1000 mg vitamin C daily. Get sufficient rest each night.
  • Visit an allergist to get tested for food allergies and sensitivities. Then avoid any foods you are allergic to or sensitive to.
  • If you get any painful canker sores, they can be treated by applying ORA5® mild cauterizing agent
  • If you still persist in getting life-disrupting canker sores, and you do not use tobacco in any form, try chewing a nicotine gum such as Nicorette® (four 2 mg tablets per day -- this is equivalent to smoking one cigarette per day). Great ToothPaste

We've used 2 tubes of Squigle toothpaste so far and it has improved our son's canker sores tremendously. He would go through phases where he would have 2 or 3 sores at a time and before they're healed he has new ones. We searched the internet and found out about that SLS, chocolate and nuts, may contribute to the canker sores. I found denist.net and ordered the Squigle right away. Both of my children like the taste, which surprised me. We use it for both of them every day. When we've run out and had to use other toothpastes, our son immediately gets a canker sore. They seem to heal a little more quickly than before, though. The last few canker sores he had were after using the TP w/ SLS, then after he ate an entire chocolate bunny @ Easter, then he went a whole week drinking chocolate milk @ school every day. Well we're off chocolate again and using a TP w/no SLS by Burt's Bees. No sores since the chocolate milk and that's been about 2 weeks! He dislikes the taste, but I'll order more of the Squigle before the other TP is gone(we've got a whole tube to use)

Squigle toothpaste

We discovered Squigle about 5 years ago. My husband and I had suffered from kanker sores frequently, and heard that Squigle would help. Since then we have hardly had any mouth sores. We lost our employment 2 years ago and went back to using cheap toothpaste...and the kanker sores returned. My son, 8, began to suffer with them too. As soon as we began work again I ordered Squigle toothpaste. Again, the kanker sores are gone. Squigle is minty, but light enough for my 3 year old. We will never go back to cheap toothpaste again. Squigle is worth every penny!

Great toothpaste for my 10 year old son!

My son who is now 10 has been using this toothpaste for about a year. Before, he had suffered from very painful canker sores and sometimes could have 4 or 5 of them in his mouth at once. After researching on the internet I came across this toothpaste and decided to let him try it. At first I was worried he wouldn't like the flavor since he is a kid and was used to bubblegum or other kid friendly flavors but after trying this the first time he said he liked it and has been using it every since. This toothpaste has drastically reduced the number of canker sores he gets. He occasionally still gets one every once in a while but nothing like it was before he starting using this. I hate to think if I hadn't of found this toothpaste, the pain that he would constantly be in. I am so thankful for this toothpaste!

Simply the Best!

I suffered from canker sores for many years and decided to try Squiggle to help with my problem. That was over 7 years ago and I'm still using the product today. Not only did Squiggle eliminate my canker sores but I get great check-ups at the dentist. The other thing I love about Squiggle is that it has a great mild taste so you can eat right after brushing if you want to. The product is worth the price and I couldn't imagine using anything else.

rp in Canada

I have suffered with canker sores for decades and tried countless remedies. When my family doctor advised there was nothing out there, I too researched the internet and came up with the canker sore buster kit which included this toothpaste. I have used the toothpaste for years and it has helped reduce the number of canker sores and their severity. I dread to think of where I would be without it.

Great for Canker Sores

I have suffered form canker sores for years. One day I was in so much pain I started researching on the internet for a solution. I came across some information about SLS and canker sores. There were a few products out there and I was prepared to work my way through them until I found something that worked. After reading the reviews on Squiggle, I decided to start there. After trying it , I realized that I had my solution on the first try. I have been using this toothpaste for about a year now and a rarely get canker sores. I did try using another toothpaste while traveling since the tube can't be carried on to the plane due to the 3 ounce rule- and I regretted it - so I now put some in a little container to bring it with me - it is well worth the extra step!
