I bought this toothbrush 4 years ago and it has been great. I had a problem with the original brushes but they sent me some replacement ones at no charge. I cant believe how long the battery has lasted and it is still strong as ever. I can floss after using this brush and hardly find anything. I highly recommend this brush.

I used the Rotadent a month, 1 month, before the battery broke down completely. A problem many experience, I read over here. I too, feel ripped off - completely.
One of the best toothbrushes I've used - thoroughly cleaning, yet gentle for the gums, but at the same time completely useless with such a battery.
Anyone knows of another type of electric toothbrush that is gentle for the gums, yet cleans thoroughly - and with a decent battery? I could use any advice given my receded gums. Thanks!

My dentist sold me the Rota-Dent tootbrush at her office a couple years ago, and I have been very happy with it. I have a problem with receding gums, and she recommended I use this electric tootbrush to prevent any further receding. My teeth feel so clean after brushing with it, and the brush is gentle on my gums. The toothbrush has a lifetime warranty so you can trust that it is a good product. I am happy that you can buy the toothbrush online now and bought another one for my mom from Dentist.net.

I have used this toothbrush for years. It was recommended to me by my cousin who is a dentist! He said it would stabalize my peridontal disease!I like it pretty well, it sure saves time compaired to the original instructions I got for caring for my peridontal disease! My gum health is maintaining and I am told I do a good job at cleaning my teeth. I am pretty well satified with it. I wish the cost was less though. It is spendy! I use all three brush heads every evening.

I had this years ago and my teeth were so white and I never had a problem with my teeth but then it was broken and then my family bought me a normal tooth brush and then my teeth went down hill I have so many problems with my teeth I want this again so bad but for the price I'm worried it wont be the exact same type as it use to be ): I really want it again though

Since using the Rota-Dent my 6 month cleanings have been outstanding. I am experiencing very very little plaque build up and the gums are healthy. My depth readings went to 5-6 to 3-4 over 18 months of use with the Roto-Dent.

Yep, walking proof... they work. batteries do give out over time as do motors and anything else.... Your Hygenist / Dentist DDS / DMD can get you more brushes if you need them.
As for longer life.. simple cure... only recharge when it needs to be recharged... short-cycle (take off-use-back on charger KILLS the battery) kills the battery because they have a limited number of recharges... but since 92 I've only needed 5.... That should say somethine... Now, as for bristles/brushes, I lost count. I change them every 3-4 months (they wear out)... Favorites are the hollow and short... get under the gums and the main surfaces PERFECTLY...
Can't speak highly enough of them.
Great product.. if your Dr doesn't have them, ask him/her to get them for you so you have help and backup if you EVER have problems (which I never have)
Good luck and enjoy.

Folks,
I got my first in 1992... yes, that long ago... and while ni-cad batteries do go after time and motors do go... that's only been a total of 4 replacements.
My Dentist (DMD and professor at Tufts, as well as Oral Surgeon).
My Dentist in Pa (when visiting) is also a DMD and he approves of what I have and said 'KEEP USING IT".
I think the trick regarding battery life is NOT short cycling it (use, recharge.... use use use use until it REALLY needs recharging,, THEN recharge it... like any L-I battery now... they have a limited number of recharges, whether short or long (I'm an EE)
Best of luck to all and thank you to the Dentists and staff for all they teach us!!!!

For the amount I spent on this toothbrush it should last a lot longer than it did. From reading reviews, apparently I am not the only one and mine lasted a lot longer than many other people's. Although it did work very well for a couple years. Same thing, the chargers broke and the toothbursh wouldn't hold a charge. I feel ripped off.

I used only for a few months and then the battery gave out... tried recharging, but now, no juice!! What a waste.

I have been using the Rotodent for many years, but the last two I bought have not been as reliable. The charge does not hold for some reason. I have a feeling that the people who once own Rotodent sold out to another company and the company which now makes the Rotodent is cutting corners on the engineering side. My rotodent should hold a charge for more than a day !! I am looking into another kind of toothbrush, pity since it use to be a fabulous brush !

I have been using my Rotodent for years and love it. I do not know where to buy another.
It is too expensive which keeps people from buying it.
However it is a great product.

I purchase this product for 6 months, clean very well but i would not recommend it
IT fail and would not keep the charge. they should sell this crap as a disposable junk. after all i paid for t.

I Love IT! It's even better than my old one, which thought I could never do without. Thank you!

I have been using Rota-Dent for over 15 years - I was wearing down my gums by brushing too hard, my Rota-Dent reversed the problem. I am on my second unit now, and find the price well worth it, as I feel it saves on dentist bills! For those of you who complain about the battery, have you read the instructions? I've never had a problem with mine.

I've used the Rota-Dent Electric toothbrush for many years. My dentist stopped selling this product and I am happy to find the tooth brushes online at this site.

While living in Florida my Dentist recomended Rota-Dent Toothbrush for a problem I was having with gingavitis. Couldn't believe a toothbrush could help, now I can't brush my teeth with anything else. I once had a problem with the brush not working or going slowly, when I replaced the brush, the problem was gone. The problem I have now living in SC is no dentist has supplies for the toothbrush, so I have to buy online which I do not care for.

I am currently a practicing hygienist and I've been using my rota-dent for a year. I recommend this to all of my patients because it makes a difference in your overall gingival health. Its the only one that will splay under the gums where your regular toothbrush and floss have difficulty reaching. Lifetime warranty anyone?? You won't be sorry you bought one, thats for sure!

I have been using this product for five years now on the recommendation of my dentist following extensive dental repairs. Since I have been using this product my follow-up dental check-ups have gone well.

I bought my Rota-dent about 3 years ago and I love it. I see some bad reviews here and I decided to write about my experience. I recommend it to everybody.
By Patricia from NJ on 03-17-11
For the price this product lasts as long as a disposable tooth brush
If should be priced at twenty dollars since it only lasts about a year
The product should come off the market or go back to research and development and produce a product to last

I was undergoing periodontal treatment when my dentist recommended RotaDent 12 years ago. Since then, I've moved several times and each dentist remarks about how healthy my gums are. I use the long point brush head on the white Rota Dent and cannot imagine life (or dental health) without it. Have recommended it to several friends who also think it's the best tool since the wheel.
By marta garcia from Atlanta GA on 02-13-11
I've had the brush for about 7 years, and it's served me VERY well, however, after Rota-Dent was bought out by ZILA from Pro-Dent, they started making cheap parts to make effort, and now, as you can see, ZILA has dirtied Rota-Dent's clean name and made way more profit than they should ever had access to. Sucks for the newbies for not buying RotaDent in the good old times

I have had my Rota-Dent for about ten years now. Before I used the Rota-Dent, I used to go to the dentist 4 times per year for cleanings as I had plaque build up problems and gum infections. This was despite the fact that I brushed and flossed regularly. My dentist talked me into purchasing a Rota-Dent (I was very skeptical at first and resisted for a time). After using the Rota-Dent for a few months, my gum and plaque issues disappeared and I have been fine ever since and have only needed to have semi annual dentist visits ever since. After ten years of use, the battery is starting to fade and I am thinking about replacing soon. The Rota-Dent has held up well over the years and has greatly improved my dental health. I highly recommend!

The idea and concept is great unfortunitely the battery or the charger or both are made cheaply and not reliable, I am one of the many who paid alot of money for something that works only for a short time before breaking down and than not having the company replace or fix it. Dont spend the money, the chances are you will have the same problem and no recourse.
By Erick Lynch from Florida on 01-08-11
The product Rota-dent was doing the job, but then the charger broke. Calling customer service only told me they no longer could replace the charger, but I could purchase a whole new unit. Customer no-service is no help.

I bought the Roto-Dent toothbrush at my dentist's recommendation in February 2010. At first, I was very pleased with the it. Then, several weeks ago, it failed to charge properly, and I could only brush with it running for about 30 seconds at a time. Regardless of my troubleshooting efforts, the brush has not worked properly since. I'm very disappointed with this product. At this price-point, I should be enjoying its full use for several years.

I have used the Rota-Dent Electric toothbrush for years. It is the best and only toothbrush I intend to use for the rest of my life. Every one should have a Rota-Dent Electric Toothbrush. If you don't have one, you are missing out.
